06 Dec 2010

(MENAFN) Vice President for Airbus Executive & Private Aviation, Francois Chazelle, announced that a total of 16 corporate jets were delivered globally this year, whereas half of the jets were delivered to the Gulf region, highlighting Airbus’s growing dependence on the region, Reuters reported.

According to Chazelle, apart from the Gulf region deliveries, the company made a total of nine new sales during 2010, whereas Qatar-based Rizon Jet was the latest to order an Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) on behalf of a new customer who chose to remain anonymous.

Airbus, a unit of Europe’s EADS, plans to invest over $1.3 billion in the ‘A320neo’ project to improve efficiency and cut emissions and noise, and revealed that various airlines from the Middle East have already expressed interest; Qatar being one of them, added Chazelle.
