(MENAFN) A statement issued by GDF Suez SA said that the company and its partners Shikoku Electric Power Co. and Sojitz Corp. have secured $1.3 billion in financing for the Barka 3 and Sohar 2 independent power projects in Oman, Bloomberg reported.
According to the statement, every single plant will have a 744 megawatts capacity when they start production.
Several regional and global banks, in addition to export credit providers Euler Hermes SA and KEXIM have arranged the facility.
The Oman Power and Water Procurement Co. will be the single offtaker.
