(MENAFN) The managing director of Accor Middle East, Christophe Landais, said that travel companies are calling off trips to Egyptian cities as foreign ministries advises tourists to stay away from busier parts of the country, reported The National.
Landais, said that the company, which has 16 hotels in Egypt, arranged to evacuate 18 family members of foreign employees, however, the hotels’ top managers are going to carry on with their work.
The trip canceling decision was affected by the travel advisory warning announced by the UK foreign and commonwealth office, which had warned against all but essential travel to Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor and Suez, added Landais.
