(MENAFN) Gulf Air’s chief executive, Samer Majali, said that the carrier would be the first in the world to feature live television coverage across continents, reported The National.
Majali added that the new service would establish a new standard for in-flight entertainment since it would change passengers’ communications and entertainment experience onboard the carrier’s aircrafts.
He also said that Gulf Air received its first A330-200 aircraft fitted with the new technology and gradually would expand the service to include its whole fleet, adding that the carrier collaborated with Panasonic Avionics, the electronics firm and Deutsche Telekom, the telecommunications firm to upgrade its offering.
It is worth noting that Gulf Air’s entertainment system, Sky Hub, will offer broadband connectivity to access internet and mobile phone services.
