Honeywell to upgrade Iraqi NRC’s Baiji refinery

02 Jun 2011

(MENAFN) Honeywell Process Solutions’ president, Norm Gilsdorf, stated that the company was selected by Iraqi North Refineries Company (NRC) to upgrade Baiji refinery’s automation systems, reported Times of Oman.

Gilsdorf also said that Honeywell was selected as the main contractor for the upgrade in terms of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the Iraqi firm’s refinery.

The president added that the upgrade would improve safety, reliability and operational efficiencies at the refinery. He pointed out that Honeywell’s Experion process knowledge system and safety manager would be used in the upgrade.

It is worth noting that Honeywell launched a full-service office in Iraq’s capital Baghdad in October last year. It’s aimed at supplying Iraq’s oil and gas industry with technology solutions such as process automation equipment.
