(MENAFN) Huawei Technologies’s general manager, James Wu, stated that the telecom giant’s Oman office started operations at a new location at Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) as the company saw good potential in Oman’s telecom sector, reported Times of Oman.
Wu also said that Chinese Huawei eyed the Gulf Cooperation Council region as fertile ground for growth in telecommunications as well as information and communications technology (ICT) sector.
The general manager added that the company seeks expanding its business in Oman in 5 main sectors which are government oil and gas, banking, transportation and smart grids.
It is worth noting that Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. is a multinational networking and telecommunications equipment company headquartered in Shenzhen, China. It is the largest networking and telecommunications equipment supplier in China and the second-largest supplier of mobile telecommunications infrastructure equipment in the world.
