(MENAFN) Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi met with his Syrian counterpart, Sufian al-Alaw, and negotiated building a refinery in Syria, constructing a pipeline that goes through Iraq to transfer gas from Iran to Syria as well as energy international markets, reported Tehran Times.
The previous Iranian minister had already approved the exporting of gas to Syria in two phases. The first phase would include exporting seven to eight million cubic meters and the second would include exporting twelve million cubic meters.
He said that Iran has approvals from Iraq for the transfer.
The minister said also that Iran would have a role in building a refinery in Homs of Syria.
