The minister, while addressing a gathering while opening a residential compound in Karbala, said that work in the Karbala oil warehouse suffered a delay, due to its millions of visitors.

Karbala has two oilfields; al-Kafl and al-Murgan oilfields near al-Razaza lake, 15 west of Karbala, he said, noting that the ministry will invite international companies to invest in these oilfields.

It is worth mentioning that Karbala is 110 kilometers southwest of Baghdad.
