Sharaf added that regulations covered all sides of nuclear power safety including emergency response measure. He also said that the regulations were drafted in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and the European Union.
It is worth mentioning that Jordan’s nuclear power program requires constructing a 1,000 MW Generation III reactor within the coming ten years. Uranium mining should start in the central region of the kingdom within the next few years.
