(MENAFN) Jordan and South Korea announced that they have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of regulating and monitoring radioactive and nuclear materials, The Jordan Times reported.
The agreement was signed by Chairman and Director General of the Jordan Nuclear Regulatory Commission Dr. Jamal Sharaf, and President of the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety Director.
In a statement after signing the agreement, Sharaf said that the two sides would be cooperating on regulating nuclear reactors and research at all levels, as well as on passing legislations to regulate the operation of reactors, as well as preparation of nuclear research programs.
The agreement also stipulates cooperation in the development of staff in Jordan through training programs in Korea, alongside the exchange of expertise.
