Jordan Telecom H1 profits decline 10.9%

(MENAFN) Jordan Telecom Group, the kingdom?s sole fixed-line operator, said that its net profit in the first six months of 2010 fell 10.9 percent to $64.3 million due to the cost of launching a 3G service, Reuters reported.

The telecom group said in a statement to the Amman Stock Exchange that revenue at its integrated mobile, internet and fixed-line business was unchanged at $276 million.

It is worth mentioning that France Telecom owns a 51 percent stake in Jordan Telecom.
