Jordan to get $70m loan from South Korea

(MENAFN) Petra News Agency reported that Jordan and South Korea will sign a loan agreement valued at $70 million to finance building a research reactor as part of Jordanian peace usage of nuclear energy.

The Jordanian Ministry of Planning said in a statement that the establishment of the research reactor is for the purposes of electric power generation and water desalination.

The agreement is part of the Jordanian peaceful nuclear program that aims to turn Jordan into a country that exports of energy by 2030, the ministry added.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr.Ja’far Hassan, the ambassador of South Korea in Amman, and the executive director of The Export-Import Bank of (South) Korea will be singing the accord.
