(MENAFN) A senior official at the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources said that the kingdom will ask this month 16 pre-qualified companies to bid for a wind-power generation project, Ad-Dustour newspaper reported.
The plant, with a capacity of between 80 megawatts and 90 megawatts and the possibility to expand to 200 megawatts, will cost an estimated $150 million, the official told the newspaper.
The project is part of the government’s three-year plan to generate 600 megawatts through wind power by the end of 2010.
