(MENAFN) Jordan’s Department of Statistics’ (DoS) quarterly report showed that during the October-December period 2010, the Kingdom’s unemployment rate dropped to 11.9 percent, compared to 12.2 percent during the corresponding period a year earlier, Jordan Times reported.
DoS data showed that in comparison to the previous quarter, the rate of unemployment fell by 1.6 percent, standing at 10 percent among males and 20.1 percent among females, whereas citizens aged 20-39 years, made up 63 percent of employed men and 77 percent of employed women.
The mentioned survey which covered a sample of 13,000 families across the country, revealed that unemployment among BA holders is still high, standing at 15.5 percent, compared with lower levels of education.
