(MENAFN) A senior official at Kuwait National Petroleum Co. (KNPC) said that the company has shut down several units at its Mina Al Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries for maintenance, which will last about three weeks to 40 days, Reuters reported
He pointed out that the shuts are already planned, and that they have started as of November 23. He added that KNPC’s third refinery Shuaiba was running normally.
Kuwait is the world’s fourth largest oil exporter. KNPC runs the country’s three oil refineries which have a combined capacity of around 930,000 barrels per day.
