(MENAFN) Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group announced that it has inked a deal to manage a new luxury city centre hotel and serviced apartments in Doha, according to a press statement.
The Qatari property, which is being developed by owners, Dohaland, is scheduled to open in 2014. Mandarin Oriental, Doha will be the group?s second hotel in the Middle East following its announcement earlier this year that it will open Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi which is scheduled for 2013.
Mandarin Oriental will be located in Musheireb, Dohaland?s ambitious 35-hectare site development adjacent to the Qatari capital?s cultural gem, Souk Waqif, and Doha?s business centre in West Bay, said a company statement.
The Musheireb project is set to regenerate the core of the city, recreating a way of living that is rooted in Qatari culture, and reflecting the growing international importance of Doha as a leisure and business destination, it added.
