(MENAFN) Vice President for Corporate Communications and PR in Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), Humoud Al-Ghobaini, said that the company started using SIM cards that are made from renewable and easily recyclable materials, reported Arab News.
Al-Ghobaini said that this comes as a part of the company’s social and environmental responsibility plan and it proves that Mobily is putting effort into being an eco-friendly company while it is providing updated products and services in the telecom sector in Saudi Arabia.
The VP added that what distinguishes the new SIMs is that they are fully compatible with telecommunications standards while they are fully biodegradable as well. He added that company made sure that even the packaging of the new SIMs is recyclable.
It is worth noting that Mobily had a previous go-green initiative with an Ericsson environmentally and aesthetically friendly tower constructed back in 2009.
