(MENAFN) Mobily’s chief executive, Khaled Al-Kaf, said that he expects the deal with Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) for tower-sharing would be finalized by the end of this year, reported Arab News.
The CEO said that there is great potential that the outcome of the deal, which is the towers, would be turned into a separate third company.
Al-Kaf added that in the future, other operators may be added to the tower-sharing scheme. Such addition can be in the form of partnerships or as customers.
It is worth noting that tower sharing between rival operators has huge benefits when it comes to cost saving on development, running and maintenance.
