Morocco, Canada agree to liberate air transport

14 Feb 2010

(MENAFN) The governments of Morocco and Canada signed a joint declaration relating to the liberalization of air transport between the two countries, Reuters reported.

Once ratified, the agreement will lead to an increase in the frequency of flights and the number of travelers between the two countries, and a fall in ticket prices.

Morocco and Canada are also discussing the terms of a free trade agreement between them. Trade between the two countries reached $450 million in 2008.

Morocco had signed an open sky agreement with Europe in December 2005, which introduced low-cost flights between Morocco and European countries.
