(MENAFN) Official data showed that Morocco’s franchise sector has registered over the last decade an average annual growth of about 18 percent, Morocco Business News reported.
There are currently 3,653 outlets and 407 franchise networks in Morocco, data showed. Statistics revealed a predominance of the equipment sector 39 percent, followed by the food industry 16 percent and furniture 7 percent.
Casablanca and Rabat alone host 43 percent of outlets, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Technology.
Last year, Morocco counted 370 networks against 342 in 2008, an 8 percent increase, and 2560 sales outlet against 2292 in 2008, a 12 percent increase.
It is worth mentioning that Morocco’s franchise sector has gone through three key stages: the initial phase was from 1960 to 1990, the growth phase was during 1990-1997 and the flourishing phase started from 1997 up to now.
