(MENAFN) Oman’s Air Transport Department at the Civil Aviation Affairs said that during the January-September period, passenger traffic through Muscat International Airport jumped by 14 percent from 2010 to 4,794,152 passengers, reported Arabian Business.
The department added that the rise resulted from the increase in flights operated by fly Dubai, Iran Aseman Airlines and Air India Express, in addition to Oman Air.
On the other hand, it also said that Salalah Airport’s passenger traffic during the period rose 14 percent to 384,601, whereas freight traffic went up 2 percent from 2010’s same period.
It is worth noting that during 2011’s first nine months, Muscat International Airport’s total cargo grew 2 percent to 73,551 tons compared with 71,916 tons in last year’s same period.
