(MENAFN) Gulf Air CEO Karim Makhlouf said Sunday that the airline’s new route linking Denmark and Bahrain would create new business and tourism opportunities in Scandinavia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)region, Gulf News reported.
The CEO said that the route would benefit travelers leaving from Copenhagen, a regional hub, because Bahrain is ranked as the freest economy in the MENA region.
The new Gulf Air flight would also link these travelers to the 36 million consumers in the Gulf and 400 million consumers in the MENA region with transfers from Bahrain, Makhlouf said. Gulf Air also has flights to Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, New Delhi, Manila, and Bangkok.
Makhlouf said that Arabs would also now look for the opportunity to vacation in Denmark and the rest of the Scandinavian region. Gulf Air is working with ‘Copenhagen Connected’ to promote Copenhagen as a tourist site in the Gulf.
