(MENAFN) New Zealand-based Pultron Composites announced launching its first pultrusion plant in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, in line with the company’s plans to boost its presence in the region, TradeArabia reported.
New Zealand Minister of Trade, Tim Groser, inaugurated the factory and said that it aims to manufacture fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) rebars for reinforcement in construction.
He pointed out that the new plant is a key part of Pultron CompositesÂ’s strategy to better serve its customer base in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
The company serves the construction industry through pultrusion technology which transforms fiber and specialty resins into reinforced materials with high strength, light weight, corrosive and electrical resistant properties for use in harsh environments where corrosion can dramatically limit the lifespan of steel, said Jasper Holdsworth, Managing Director of Pultron.
He explained that the reinforced materials or rebars produced are also non-electric and non-magnetic, making them ideal for use in the construction, with many applications from of aluminum smelters, waterfront developments and MRI rooms in hospitals.
