Oman awards $1.73b tender for airport project

(MENAFN) Oman’s Tender Board announced that it has awarded a $1.83 billion contract for a new building at Muscat International Airport, Reuters reported.

The project is expected to be completed in 38 months. The new building, covering 332,000 square meters, will have a capacity of 12 million passengers annually.

The new terminal with world-class standards will have 104 check-in counters to serve passengers. The counters will have state-of-the-art technologies specially designed to complete travel procedures rapidly.

The main building, 460 meters long, is provided with all the services that ensure safe processing of passengers’ transactions, flight bookings and hotel reservations and a four-star hotel with 90 rooms which may be expanded.

The hotel rooms will have all the amenities that are available at top hotels, as well as duty free shops. The new terminal includes three wings for aircraft and passenger service.
