(MENAFN) A joint venture of local firm Galfar Engineering with India’s Larsen & Toubro has been awarded a contract worth $763.6 million to expand an Omani airport, Reuters reported.
‘The contract at Salalah airport is to build a new terminal building, a runway, control tower, an apron and a hangar,’ the tender board official told Reuters.
Salalah, a resort located in the southern region of Oman, is Oman’s second biggest airport after Muscat.
Earlier this month, the US engineering firm Bechtel was awarded a $1.84 billion contract to build a terminal building at Muscat airport in a joint venture with an Omani firm.
