(MENAFN) Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that his country and Oman reached a new agreement for a ferry service linking Gwadar and Muscat to enhance trade between the two countries, reported Times of Oman.
The prime minister added that more ties were strengthened between the two countries as it was decided to found a council for joint business between the Chambers of Commerce and Industries of Oman and Pakistan.
Gilani added that the number of Pakistanis in Oman doubled recently due to strong relations between the two countries. In addition, money transfers from Oman to Pakistan increased by a hundred percent.
Gilani added that further cooperation would take place in an attempt to attract corporate investments from Oman to Pakistan. Possible cooperation would take place in sectors such as energy, telecom, IT, fisheries, livestock and agriculture.
