(MENAFN) Oman’s national statistics agency said that the Sultanate’s annual inflation was 2 percent in February from 7.9 percent a year ago, with prices stable month-on-month, Reuters reported.
The Muscat-based agency said in a statement that the Sultanate’s inflation in January was 1.7 percent.
The stability of the consumer price index in February 2010 compared to January 2010 is due to stability in the first three main categories, which are the foodstuff, beverages and tobacco group, the transportation and communication service group and rents, electricity, water and fuel group, the agency added.
