(MENAFN) An official at Qatar’s Energy Ministry stated that Qatar Petroleum’s (QP) international marketing arm, Tasweeq, had marketed around 1 million crude oil barrels for the Libyan opposition, reported Arabian Oil and Gas.
The official explained that the role played by Qatar Petroleum had been to facilitate the sales as well as help the opposition find buyers, rather than transporting the crude itself.
The Ministry official also said that Tasweeq had additionally helped the Libyan opposition buy 4 cargoes of refined oil products.
It is worth noting that Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state owned petroleum company in Qatar. The company operates all oil and gas activities in the country, including exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage.
