(MENAFN) A Greece defense ministry official said that the country would receive six fighter jets and one cargo aircraft from Qatar to arrive in Crete on one of the country’s military bases, reported Arabian Business.
Qatar submitted a flight aircraft for six Mirage jets and one C-130 cargo plane to arrive at Greece in response to a UN Security Council resolution authorizing military action to protect civilians from leader Muammar Gaddafi’s forces.
It is still unclear however what role the Qatari planes would play in Libya.
On another note, the UAE had sent an airplane to Sicily, but the reason behind that was not clarified.
