Qatar to build Lusail Light Rail

(MENAFN) Qatari Diar and Qatar Railways Co stated that the two companies inked a contract worth USD42.5 million with Parsons and Aecom under which the American companies would run the development of Lusail Light Rail project, reported Arabian Business.

The deal in subject was signed for the development of a total of 24 stations, service depots and a viaduct that would run over thirty kilometers.

The companies said that the new project would be a part of the national railway network that would cover all Qatar and would cost USD40 billion.

It is worth noting that this project is one of many planned ahead of the FIFA 2022 world cup that would be held in Qatar. The country is planning multi-billion worth of projects to prepare the country for the event.
