(MENAFN) Sepp Blatter, the president of FIFA, said that if it was proven that Qatar paid bribes in order to secure votes for winning the hosting of the 2022 World Cup, a re-run of the vote might be held, reported Arabian Business.
Blatter said that the people behind these allegations stqated they were ready to go to FIFA in person and provide evidence. If this happens, FIFA will hold a complete investigation of the manner.
If such allegations were found true, both the reputation of FIFA and Qatar would take a major hit.
It is worth noting that the Sunday Times published a story claiming that Qatar paid FIFA members Issa Hayatou and Jacques Anouma a sum of USD3 million in bribes to grant their votes for Qatar.
