(MENAFN) Msheireb Properties awarded a consortium of Carillion (Qatar) and Qatar Building Company the main building contract for a key phase of Msheireb Downtown Doha project, Arab News has learned.
The USD650.6 million contract represents a major milestone in the major flagship project worth USD5.5 billion.
Under the agreement, the consortium’s new entity Carillion Qatar Building Company (CQBC) will undertake the substructure and superstructure works of Phase 1B.
Phase 1B will include 12 residential buildings providing a total of 180 apartments, 158-romm Mandarin Oriental Hotel and two office buildings with 52 retail units.
Msheireb Downtown construction works debuted in January 2010, scheduled to finish in 2016.
