(MENAFN) The CEO of Qatar Telecom (Qtel), Nasser Marafih, said that his company signed a deal with KT Corporation of Korea to establish mutual resolutions for “Smart Cities” in Qatar, reported Gulf News.
Marafih said that the two companies would offer a variety of new products and solutions, intended for smart cities-developing organizations. This involves developers, infrastructure companies, governmental and corporate units.
Also, in an attempt to make it possible for developers to entirely run operations and widen value-added services for businesses and residents of the new cities, both companies decided to come up with a long-term integrated management solution.
It is worth noting that South Korea is considered to be one of the leading countries in the area of Smart City development. It had built New Songdo City, in which energy use and environmental impact are reduced through latest technologies.
