(MENAFN) Riyadh Valley Company’s (RVC) board chairman and president of King Saud University, Dr. Abdullah Al Othman, stated that the investment firm signed a deal with Cerener Corporation and Zamil group by which the firms would set up Riyadh Valley HIS, reported Saudi Gazette.
Al Othman also said that the health care sector was a major part of Saudi’s change from an oil-based economy to a knowledge-based one. He pointed out that the new firm would provide health information services (HIS) to RVC’s affiliated hospitals, private hospitals and Ministry of Higher Education hospitals.
The chairman added that the new Riyadh Valley HIS would use Cerner’s Millennium(R) software architecture, a leader in contemporary health care software.
It is worth noting that RVC of King Saud University is a Saudi government-owned investment firm, while US-based Cerner Corporation is a leader in the field of health care technology, and Zamil is a leading Saudi business group.
