Saudi Arabian Airlines carries 4.5m passengers in Q1

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabian Airlines director general, Khalid Al Mulhem, stated that the airline carried 4.5 million passengers in 2011’s first quarter up from last year’s 4.1 million in the same quarter, reported Gulf News.

Al Mulhem also said that 36,289 flights carried passengers in the first quarter, compared to last year’s first quarter 37,342 flights.

The director general added that the passengers of domestic flights rose 8.1 percent in the quarter to 2,758,578.

It is worth noting that Saudi Arabian Airlines is the second largest Arab carrier in terms of passengers carried and fleet size after UAE-based Emirates airline.
