Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical exports increase 17%

(MENAFN) Saudi Ports Authority reported an increase in exports of Saudi petrochemicals shipped outside the country as exports grew from 30.7 million metric tons in 2010 compared to 26.2 million tons in 2009, reported Saudi Gazette.

The Kingdom’s petrochemical exports witnessed a 17.2 percent increase by volume last year sue to the increase in demand from Asia in the fourth quarter of 2010. In December, exports went 24.8 percent up amounting to 3.15 million metric tons compared with the same month in 2009.

Exports in December were 19.7 percent more than those of November during which the country shipped 2.63 million tons of petrochemicals.
