(MENAFN) Saudi Aramco contracted Foster Wheeler SOFCON, an unincorporated conglomerate of Foster Wheeler’s Engineering and Construction Group and A. Al-Saihati, A. Fattani & O. Al-Othman Consulting Engineering Co. (SOFCON), for a project reduce the sulfur and benzene content of its gasoline, Arab News reported.
The consortium will provide project management services and front-end engineering services for the Refinery’s clean transportation fuels project.
For the project, Foster Wheeler SOFCON will upgrade the Riyadh Refinery’s main control and monitoring systems, laboratories, crude and vacuum distillation tower internals, isomerization, naphtha splitting, and sulfur guard-bed units. The project also includes debottlenecking the hydrocracker and gas concentration units.
The company will also supply new equipment including two tanks, a pipe rack, instrument air compressor, condensate system, substation, process interface building and workshop, and diesel hydrotreator reactor.
