(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia’s Central Department of Statistics reported that annual inflation went up to hit 4.8 percent last month on an increase in the costs of food and transport, reported Arab News.
The department also revealed data showing that living costs in Saudi Arabia increased by 0.4 percent last month, compared to 0.3 percent in March.
Food prices increased by 0.9 percent on a monthly basis, after a 0.1 percent decrease reported in March.
In addition, analysts warned of stronger increase in prices in the coming few months, which would lead subsequently to a higher increase in inflation.
