27 Jul 2011

(MENAFN) Telecom Company (STC), Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) and Zain Saudi Officials from three mobile network companies in the Kingdom, the three companies that provide mobile phone services in Saudi Arabia, announced signing a deal that gives customers the option to switch from a company to another while keeping their phone numbers as is, reported Arab News.

Stipulations incorporated in the agreement to enable the simplification of the number transfer, a process known as porting, include that a disconnection of the transferred number should be temporary.

The companies stated that a request for switching would not be rejected except for valid reasons such as not paying bills or fees.

It is worth noting that the Governor of Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) in Saudi Arabia attended the signing ceremony.
