(MENAFN) The Saudi Ministry of Transport reported the dedication of $3 billion this year for the construction of 389 new road projects as well as $199 million for road maintenance and repairs and $5.3 million for conducting studies, reported Arab News.
The ministry said that the total length of new roads would stand at 6,600 kilometers, while studies would be conducted on 2,762 km of new roads.
The ministry said that most projects would be conducted in the capital, Riyadh, and would include the first phase of Alkharj-Quwaieya Road, the second phase of Afif-Dhalam Road and the road linking Riyadh-Qassim Road with Riyadh-Huraimala.
Other projects would be conducted in Makkah, Madinah, Eastern, Asir and Jazan provinces.
