(MENAFN) Sofitel’s vice president for Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean, Sami Nasser, said that by the end of 2012, the French luxury hotel company would open three properties in the UAE, reported The National.
Nasser added that the first of these properties would be the Sofitel Abu Dhabi Capital Plaza, which would be expected to open on the Corniche in this year’s fourth quarter, adding that last year the group launched the five star Dubai Jumeirah beach hotel on the Palm Jumeirah. On the other hand, at the end of next year, the company would open a resort on the Crescent and a hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Burj Khalifa.
He also said that towards the end of the year, many new hotels would be scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi, including the Jumeirah Etihad Towers, a Rocco Forte property and the Hyatt Capital Gate.
It is worth noting that Sofitel is growing rapidly across the Middle East. In 2010, the company opened a property in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and is scheduled to open the historic Legend Cataract hotel in Aswan, Egypt, this year following its renovation. It also launched a hotel in Bahrain in February in the midst of widespread protests.
