Spinneys will open 16 stores in ME by 2013

(MENAFN) Spinneys Group CEO Michael Wright said the supermarket chain plans to expand throughout the Middle East by 2013, Arabian Business reported.

Wright explained that the Spinneys plans to open 16 stores across the region by under an aggressive expansion drive, including Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt and debut in the Jordanian market.

He added that retailer chain is seeking new opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and is also hoping for opportunities in Arab Spring countries Syria, Tunisia and Libya, once the political situation stabilizes.

Spinneys Group operates seven outlets in Lebanon, three in Egypt and one in Qatar, and it expects to open its first store in Jordan this month, with a further three under construction in Lebanon and slated to open in 2012.
