(MENAFN) Revenue from Egypt’s Suez Canal rose to $379.4 million in March, the government said, up from $327.9 million a year earlier, Reuters reported.
The canal’s revenues also rose month-on-month, from $334.1 million in February, according to the government.
The waterway is a vital source of foreign currency in Egypt, along with tourism, oil and gas exports and remittances from Egyptians living abroad.
