UAE air traffic up 11.9% in July

(MENAFN) Air traffic in the UAE is growing strongly, according to the latest report by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), which reported 11.9 percent growth in July, Gulf News reported.

About 55,000 aircraft movements were recorded last month, up from 52,000 in June. This was the highest this year, with an average of 1,763 movements per day.

Dubai ranked first with 24,961 movements. Over-flights were second at 11,924. Abu Dhabi ranked third with 8,045 and Sharjah International Airport ranked fourth with 5,600.

Local flights between UAE airports were in the fifth position with 3,414 movements.

Fujairah International Airport had 404 movements, while Al Ain Airport and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport had 210 and 75 movements respectively.
