(MENAFN) Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, or du, said net profit for the second quarter of 2010 more than doubled to $75.1 million compared to $31.4 million in the same period of 2009, Khaleej Times reported.
The 42 percent increase over the previous quarter’s profit of $53 million was achieved on the back of sustained growth in revenues and continued subscriber additions, the company said.
Du said it added 182,100 net active mobile subscribers during the second quarter, taking the total as of June 30 to 3.92 million.
Revenues increased 30 percent to $465 million compared to $358 million in the second quarter of 2009 and an 8 percent increase compared to the first quarter of this year.
