(MENAFN) The Djibouti government received a private investment for setting up and launching a new national carrier, Djibouti Air, according to Ebrahim Saeed Lootah, a majority-share holder in the carrier, reported Gulf News.
Lootah, who is also the chairman of real estate and construction Lootah Group, said that the new carrier plans on beginning with only one aircraft that would be conducting flights from Djibouti to Dubai later next month.
Lootah said that the plans expansion in the future as soon as necessary network size elevates. These plans include increasing the number of weekly flights to Dubai to six as well ass adding new destinations such as Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen, Kenya, Europe and East Asia.
