UAE-UK trade reaches $6.2b by June-end

(MENAFN) The UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade (MoFT) revealed in a study that trade between the UAE and the UK climbed to more than $6.2 billion by June-end of 2010, Reuters reported.

According to the study, UK exports to the UAE had risen by $2.8 billion, while total UAE exports to the UK outperformed the whole of 2009, whereas the UAE alone received 31.5 percent of the UK�s exports to all Arab countries, making it Britain�s largest Arab export market, which accounts for 1.6 percent of its total global exports.

As for non-oil trade between the two countries, the study showed that it reached $5.5 billion.

According to UAE Ministry of Economy data, there are currently 305 British companies operating in the UAE, proving the strong ties between the two countries.
