(MENAFN) The Egyptian ambassador to the UAE, Tamer Mansour, said that Egypt had submitted a request for freezing the assets and bank accounts in the UAE of the former president Hosni Mubarak and his entourage, but no decision was made yet regarding this request, reported The National.
The ambassador said that finding relevant accounts and which alias names were used would surely consume a considerable amount of time.
The ambassador also said that this request was not sent only to the UAE. The Egyptian interim government sent such a request to many other countries in the arab world as well as Europe.
It is worth noting that many countries applied a freeze on the assets of Husni Mubarak, in addition to the ousted Tunisian president, Bin Ali.
