UAE’s Al Fursan set for aerobatics

(MENAFN) Alenia Aermacchi, a unit of the Italian defense company Finmeccanica, stated that it is working on retrofitting jets for the UAE, with features such as dye and smoke tanks, in order for the UAE to establish its first aerobatic team, reported The National.

Alenia reported the completion of retrofitting ten jets so far. It also said that the Italian air force’s Frecce Tricolori, in cooperation with Alenia, are providing pilots from the UAE, called Al Fursan, with adequate training in Italy.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

The UAE is trying to enhance flying abilities of its air force pilots. The country aims at its aerobatic team becoming an international representative of the country.
