(MENAFN) Saudi Labour Minister Adel Fakieh said that half a million Saudis are currently unemployed despite the governments steps towards granting jobs for nationals in the workforce, reported Arabian Business.
The minister said that although the Saudi government is working on making Saudis replace ten percent of foreign workers in the Saudisation plan, still, the program was unable to raise Saudi employment to target. The minister said that only a small number of jobs were Saudised.
Previously, the economic development plan for the Kingdom was set to decrease unemployment by fifty percent even though analysts warned that numbers were optimistic.
